Learn about Charles’s background →

Charles Nutter holds a Master of Science in Accounting and a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Level 2 certification.

His work as a staff accountant and auditor included account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, audit documentation, and internal control assessments for nonprofit and governmental organizations.

He also brings experience managing organizational budgets, implementing financial controls, and explaining financial information to decision-makers. Clarity applies that disciplined approach to your cleanup scope and written handoff.

Messy books rarely mean just one thing.

Most cleanup projects involve a chain of small problems. The right approach traces them to the source instead of layering on another quick correction.

Months are unreconciled

Bank or credit-card activity has not been matched and closed out.

Balances look wrong

Cash, loans, receivables, or equity do not match what you know is true.

Categories are inconsistent

The same expenses appear in several places and reports are hard to compare.

Old issues keep returning

Past corrections were never fully resolved or documented.

What we review and repair.

Every file is different. Your free assessment identifies the information needed to understand the problem. Any paid diagnostic and cleanup work are agreed separately before they begin.

QuickBooks cleanup FAQ

Not sure whether your file needs a tune-up or a deeper repair? The diagnostic is designed to answer that first.

How long does a cleanup take?

Timing depends on how many months and accounts are involved, the condition of the file, and access to supporting documents. After the diagnostic, you receive a clearer scope and expected timeline.

Will I keep my existing QuickBooks file?

In most cases, yes. We work carefully within the existing file and preserve sound historical work. If a different approach is warranted, we explain why before work begins.

Do you provide ongoing bookkeeping?

The immediate focus is cleanup and reliable financials. If ongoing support is appropriate after cleanup, we can discuss the right next-step arrangement.

Start with a conversation. Understand the scope before committing.

For small business owners across the United States with inaccurate balances, overdue reconciliations, or books that need to be ready for a CPA.

Optional next step: $49 focused file diagnostic

If a file review is useful after the conversation, we can agree on a separate $49 diagnostic. It provides a written summary of priority issues and a recommended cleanup roadmap. It is not required to book the free assessment and does not include cleanup corrections.

What determines cleanup pricing? Months behind, account count, transaction volume, and complexity. You receive an agreed scope and quote before paid cleanup begins.

What happens during the free assessment?

Charles will call the number you provide for a 15-minute conversation about the main issue, the information needed, and the next step toward a scoped quote. The call does not include a full review or correction of your books.

Is the $49 diagnostic required to book a call?

No. The introductory assessment is free. If a focused file review is useful, the optional $49 diagnostic provides a written summary of priority issues and a recommended next step. We agree on that paid service separately.

How is cleanup priced?

Cleanup is quoted separately before work begins. The price depends on months behind, the number of accounts, transaction volume, and complexity. Your scope identifies the periods, accounts, deliverables, and any exclusions.

Can I keep my QuickBooks account and my CPA?

We discuss your QuickBooks product and existing setup first. Where appropriate, cleanup is performed in your existing file, with a documented handoff for your CPA. Your CPA continues to handle tax advice and filing.

What should I have ready?

Know which QuickBooks product you use, roughly how far behind your books are, and any deadlines. Do not send passwords, bank account numbers, tax IDs, or financial documents through a public form. Secure access and document sharing are arranged separately.
